We thank you for continued support as we work through the changing environment of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The safety and well-being of everyone in our community – especially our most vulnerable neighbors – is our top priority. At all times, we will be guided by recognized health authorities locally and provincially. We appreciate your patience as our teams work to ensure all necessary safety precautions are in place to support a safe environment. You can expect there will be some changes to our physical spaces and procedures to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards for safety and hygiene.

We will continue to re-evaluate to ensure our safety measures are effective, and adjust programs and hours of operation as needed. We are adding in services as we can; however, we are also prepared to introduce new measures if required.

We ask for your support as we navigate this next stage of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective Wednesday, December 22 at 11:59 p.m. until January 19, 2022, the Prince George Family YMCA will be closed. We will continue to follow the guidance of the Provincial Health Officer and share updates with you during this temporary closure.

What does this mean for our members?

Effective immediately, all YMCA memberships will be put on hold and all automatic payments paused until we re-open. Your membership will be reactivated once we confirm our re-opening date. We ask for your patience as we begin to process large numbers of payment adjustments.

Because we are a charity that strengthens community, some members prefer that the YMCA continues to receive their fees—rather than put their memberships on hold. At this time, we will put all memberships on hold and invite those interested in donating their fees—so that the Y can continue our important work providing vital services in-person and virtually—to please click below.

In order to protect the health and safety of everyone in the facility, the following measures are in place for group fitness participation:

1. Physical Distancing – Please ensure physical distancing by using the floor decals indoors to guide you to maintain a minimum distance of 2 metres from others at all times. Outdoor classes do not require the wearing of masks, and therefore have a physical distancing requirement of 3 metres at all times.

Studio – 7 Participants
Gymnasium – 17 Participants
Outside – 10 Participants
