Child and Youth Development

At the YMCA we want to be there every step of the way through your family’s journey. We are committed to supporting families to living healthy, active lives together which is why we have a variety of options for children through their teen years. Kids and families can exercise, play and socialize together. Whether you want to take up an activity with your child or encourage them to try something new, there are plenty of ways to live healthy together.

Grade 6 Initiative

At the YMCA, we want youth to be healthy and engaged in their community which is why we created our Grade 6 Initiative. As a part of our partnership with the 2015 Canada Winter Games, this legacy program provides all Grade 6 students in Prince George a free YMCA membership to provide them a safe place to stay active and to develop healthy habits for years to come.
