Camp Kanannaq: Frequently Asked Questions

About Camp Kanannaq

YMCA Camp Kanannaq is accredited by the BC Camps Association, however it is not a licensed child care program. The BC Camps Association provides camps with stringent training, health and safety protocols, activity and program safety requirements, and auditors regularly visit the site for inspections.

Your camper will need: a backpack (please ensure all your campers belongings fit in their backpack), a nut-free snack and lunch, a water bottle, running shoes, a hat, swimsuit, towel, light jacket or hoodie, and extra weather appropriate clothing. For a full packing list please check out the Camper Guide.

Camp is located on Nadsilnich (West) Lake on the traditional, unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation. The camp address is 21970 Blackwater Rd. The directions to camp can be found in the Camper Guide.

Policies and Procedures

Camp programming will continue to take place at our location on Nadsilnich (West) Lake regardless of air quality. We have several buildings, which allow all campers to be indoors when required. We have three categories of programming: regular operations, modified programming, and indoor programming. For the full poor air quality policy please go to the Camper Guide.

Each day, at closing campfire, staff will display all the lost and found items. If you know of an item your camper is missing, please send a description of it to the camp phone (250-617-9108) and the camp team will have it available at pick up for that day or leave it at the front desk.
