As the largest not-for-profit provider of child care in Canada and with nearly 40 years of experience, YMCA BC offers high-quality child care programs for infants, toddlers, preschool and school aged children. We understand that families have many demands and we believe that every child deserves a safe place to grow, which is why we offer a variety of options to meet every family’s needs. We know that choosing child care is a big decision and that parents want to know that their child is safe and well cared for while having fun- that your child care is a place your child wants to go every day.
Our highly trained Early Childhood Educators partner with parents to support each child’s development and provide families with the security of knowing their child is in a safe and nurturing environment during these formative years. YMCA BC was awarded the 2014 Child Care Awards of Excellence by the Ministry of Children & Family Development for their outstanding work on behalf of children and families in Northern BC. Group Care 0-3 Years
Our Infant and Toddler programs assure quality care for children with a 1:4 staff to child ratio. Our staff are both experienced and highly skilled through special education specific to infant and toddler development. We encourage families to visit us for a tour.
School Age
We know that families have enough to worry about, which is why we offer a variety of school age programs to meet each families’ needs. YMCA School Age Care offers individual options, including before and after school as well as non-instructional and school break all-day programs. YMCA staff will safely walk your children to and from the center and WL McLeod Elementary. During full-day programs, children will also enjoy exciting themes and field trips!
Summer Club
YMCA Summer Club is the best way for school age children to spend their summer as our caring and enthusiastic staff guide your child’s development through fun and engaging programs, including field trips. Weekly themes ensure that the whole summer is filled with fun from start to finish as children laugh and play in our inclusive environment.
