After-school program for youth aged 16-18

The Startup to Success program is an exciting opportunity for high school students to develop essential career, business, and financial skills—all while getting paid to learn!

Program Overview

  • Starts March 2025 | 16 weeks, Thursdays • 6:00p.m.–8:00p.m.
  • Location: Highland Development Centre • 155 McDermid Dr, Prince George
  • Age Range: 16-18 years
  • Facilitated by: Trained JA volunteers with real business experience
  • Benefits: Earn while you learn + transportation + food & refreshments

What You’ll Gain

Success Skills (Weeks 1-2)

  • Build confidence in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving to prepare for career and life success

  • Identify and build a toolkit of transferable skills that will support success in any career

Entrepreneurship Knowledge (Weeks 3-14)

  • Plan and launch your own business with mentorship from experienced professionals.

  • Produce and market a product or service and analyze financial records to ensure business growth.

Personal Finance Skills (Weeks 15-16)

  • Learn how to budget, save, and make smart financial decisions to secure your future.

  • Develop a personal finance plan with clear goals to make informed choices.
