You will find enjoyable classes for all ages and fitness levels, which will have you feeling better than you ever thought possible! Each week we offer over 100 drop-in classes such as Bootcamp, Cardio Box, Muscle Fit, Pound, Step, Stretch, Zumba, and so much more!
Current Group Fitness Classes
Cardio
Engage the entire body in a combination of movements that will challenge both your range of motion and cardiovascular health- plus you’ll have just as much fun as you did in the 80s!
A high-energy cardio class that incorporates various martial arts movements and athletic drills in a non- contact program. Punch, kick and skip your way to your best fitness.
An energetic and powerful ride on our indoor cycling bikes, filled with a combination of drills which include hills, intervals and time trials.
High-intensity interval training is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods.
A high-intensity interval training that alternates cycle and core strength using a variety of equipment, including body weight, bands, toning balls and free weights to sculpt all the muscles groups of the core.
An energizing, toning and rockin’ workout in which participants use drumming to become a part of the music to sweat and sculpt!
An upbeat choreographed cardio class that uses a step for high impact to sculpt while you sweat.
Dance
A Bollywood-inspired dance-fitness program that combines dynamic choreography with the hottest music from around the world. Its 50-minute cardio workout cycles between higher and lower-intensity dance sequences to get you moving, sweating, and smiling.
A high-energy, Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that will have you addicted! Dance away the calories and let loose!
Strength Training
A total body interval workout with a variety of strength, interval, MET, HIIT and TRX/RIP to rev your metabolism and condition your entire body.
A motivating combination of traditional barbell training exercises matched to top hit music to create a fun and efficient way to strength train. You’ve never had this much fun lifting weights!
High intensity training, syncing music and strength moves, delivering an effective, total body workout. Music is the driving force to work hard and see results. Strong provides an intensity progression system; biomechanics and movement fundamentals are applied for injury prevention.
Yoga & Stretch
A dynamic unity of Pilates and yoga designed to challenge, strengthen and stabilize your core and increase vitality.
Join a soothing atmosphere devoted to releasing tight muscles as well as focusing on relaxing through breathing. Together we will find relaxation of your mind and body.
Originally developed for self-defense, Tai Chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s used for stress reduction through gentle, flowing movements.
A basic foundation and peaceful approach to improve strength and flexibility.
Explore physical and mental limits, working all parts of the body to create balance.
Senior Fit
Celebrate movement in a fun and supportive environment that is designed to increase strength, vitality and connection with others. This program is designed to provide a gentle progression of low risk exercise to those with arthritis, osteoporosis or adapting to chronic disorders.
A gentle paced alternative to our Senior Fit classes for those older adults that are just starting out or coming back to fitness. It will include simple aerobic activity followed by strength, range of motion, balance work and stretching. Pricing
Taking the first step can be a challenge, so we have made it easy with our introduction packages! Three sessions will provide you one-on-one support through the first stages of establishing a new routine and tracking progress on your program to set you up for success. Eight sessions will allow individuals the support of two visits per week for a month for those wanting extra support, motivation and tools to help you get your goals met.

What is YThrive? What can I expect?
YThrive is an exercise program that will help you improve your health and physical performance or help you take more control of your life and achieve results. It provides you with the support to get started, the flexibility to do it on your own, results to stay motivated, and the opportunities to connect with others just like you.
Each workout is designed to be 50-minutes in length, and every 90 days you get a new routine and a new set of results to work toward. YThrive has three streams based on your familiarity with fitness and fitness level. The FLEX stream is for a confident exerciser looking to maximize strength and muscle gain, the BOOST stream is for an occasional or active exerciser looking to maintain a healthy weight or lifestyle.; whereas the BALANCE stream is for individuals looking to improve their overall health, increase energy levels and lead a more active lifestyle.

Current Dance Classes
Swing, jitterbug, jive, rock ‘n’ roll… East Coast Swing has many names but most importantly, it is jump-jivin’ fun! The beginner class will introduce single-step swing, providing students with a bunch of nifty turns, dips, and fun positions to keep you and your partner happy and looking good on the dance floor.
Sundays • September 15th–October 27th • 5:00p.m.–6:00p.m.
Country dancing is an indispensable skill in this community! In this class we teach the fundamentals of Two-Step, including the basic step, turns, combos, and several partner dance positions. This is a beginner class for people with no Two-Step experience or for dancers who need to shake off the rust. Put on your boots and come on down!

The Level 2 ECS is a continuation of the beginner class and is aimed at students who are already familiar with single-step East Coast Swing. Here we introduce the triple-step rhythm and tons more fun patterns. East Coast Swing has been our most popular class at the Y for 25+ years and is the most useful and versatile dance for a beginning social dancer.

Level 2 Two-Step is a continuation of the beginner two-step class. Country dancing is an indispensable skill in this community! In this class we will review the skills learned in the beginner class, with the introduction of some new positions and patterns to keep you and your partner moving.

Fitness Certifications
Are you interested in teaching fitness?
The YMCA offers a variety of courses designed to provide you the knowledge necessary to teach fitness classes or offer your services as a personal trainer. Following completion, you will be recognized to teach within the YMCA as well as other organizations with our well-established credentials. Fitness is the first step to get you there.
Those applying to attend these courses must have 50+ hours experience exercising personally. 100% participation in self-directed and classroom activities is mandatory.
Group strength certification is for those wanting to teach boot camp, barbell classes or any group fitness classes using resistance training. You will learn all the anatomy, physiology as well as class structure and teaching techniques. The course is covered using a combination of self-directed learning and classroom setting with opportunities for apprenticeship.
YMCA Personal Training is for those who wish to provide fitness advice and coaching to individuals and small groups. Through a combination of self-directed learning and classroom activities, you will learn anatomy, physiology, exercise variations and training principle. Activities will include talking to people about healthy eating, building rapport, motivation and helping people make a lifestyle change.
At the YMCA, we are proud to be a leader in the health and fitness industry. We are committed to serving our communities with a variety of options for health by providing professional development opportunities for our fitness professionals. Each spring, we open our doors to fitness professionals from the region as we welcome leaders in fitness for two-days of training, learning, and networking.

We’re excited to launch a new virtual YMCA experience, free for YMCA members!
Through a collaboration of YMCA Associations across Canada working together, Y@HOME+ was created to bring a new and exciting virtual YMCA to our members and communities. Aerobics

Bosu
A fun full-body work out! Using the Bosu recruits numerous core and stabilizing muscles to balance. Burn more calories than a traditional workout. The class uses a variety of dumbbells, barbells, and resistance bands and is suitable for beginners to advanced fitness levels.

Latin Dance Cardio

Lunch Power Walk
Are you ready to start walking? Walking is one of the easiest forms of exercise. All you need is a good pair of shoes, comfortable clothing, and great company.
Power walking is for everybody whether you are a beginner or an elite athlete and has everything you need to keep you fit, strong and healthy. It is simple and enjoyable!!

We have a strength training option for every body and fitness level to increase your strength and endurance, sculpt and tone your muscles and rev your metabolism.
Body Fit
A complete full body workout using weights to focus on strength, including some calisthenics, core, and cardio. Powerful and dynamic, improve your tone and challenge yourself to progress at any fitness level. Designed to efficiently and effectively work all muscles.
Bootcamp

Bolly X

Embodied Awareness Yoga
Restore Yoga
Restorative Yoga is a wonderful practice to restore depleted nervous systems. Body scan, breath work, fascial tissue massage with ball work, and restorative yoga. Accessible to everyone.

High Intensity Interval Training

An interval-based circuit method of cardio and strength that utilizes cycle bikes, machines every muscle group for an efficient tone and sweat!
Cardio Express
Sweat your way to a better day with this 30 minute, fun, calorie burning cardio workout incorporating a variety of athletic drills.
Lunch Crunch
A powerful fusion of core and lower body designed to tone and build muscle with enough time to make it back to the office!
Fitness On Demand Classes (FOD)
Fitness On Demand is virtual fitness held in our All-Purpose Room. Classes will be lead via a projector and screen during time slots where live classes are not scheduled.
