Prince George, Fort St. James, Vanderhoof, Fort St. John, BC– the YMCA of Northern BC’s Camp Kanannaq expands to a new site to serve families with more programs and longer hours!
The YMCA of Northern BC is thrilled to announce its new partnership – with Scouts’ Camp Hughes. YMCA Camp Kanannaq is moving to West Lake, its new home for summer 2019. The new site will offer all the same great programming- canoeing, archery, swimming, wide games- with many new additions and facilities.
Manager of Philanthropy, Marketing and Camps, Stephanie Deol states, “We could not be more excited for this partnership. This expansion allows us to continue to work to meet the growing community need. The new site allows us to serve more children.”
YMCA Camp Kanannaq is offering a new program for ages 5 and 6 years, Luna. As well as a new program for 15-17 year olds, the Borealis Expedition where youth will canoe the entire Bowron Lake circuit.
The Aurora Leadership Program will operate from Prince George, Fort St. James, Vanderhoof and Fort St. John. In an effort to better meet the needs of working parents, all YMCA Camp Kanannaq programs will operate 8:15am-4:45pm.
Camp Registration opens Wednesday February 6th, 2019. Campership financial assistance is available through the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
